William M. Snyder, 91, of Newville went home to be with the Lord on January 27, 2025. He was born on February 4, 1933 to the late William and Twylah Snyder. 

    William proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955, where he did two world tours. He ran his own restaurant the Pony Tail in Carlisle, later he drove truck for Ed Clouse, and PPG before retiring. He was an EMT, and ran ambulance for Newville Friendship Fire Company. 

     He enjoyed traveling, especially on family camping trips. He belonged to South Fairview Church of God, was a life member of the VFW, Eagles Aerie 1299, the Circle, Carlisle, and the Tin Can Alley. 

    Bill was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Addessa K. Kough Snyder, six children Son Steve “Skeeter” Snyder, his wife Mary, and his children Miranda Casto, Shannon Casto, Casey Jumper, John Jozefick Jr., and 7great-grandchildren, Son Bob Snyder his wife Beth his four children Josh Snyder wife Brook, David Jumper, Justine Smith, Laura Estep, and 5 great-grandchildren, son Harold Snyder his wife Tenna, their children Tasha Macke her husband Luke, Wade Snyder and girlfriend Kayla , and 3 great grandchildren, son John Snyder wife Cathy children Shannon Isles, Blaine Naugle and 3 great grandchildren, daughter Connie Cornman husband Cliff, children Seth Cornman, daughter Kate Barrick husband Caleb, and 3 great-grandchildren, son Tom Snyder wife Maria, his children Estrella Sulouff her husband James, and Drakonus Snyder and 2 great-grandchildren; two brothers Dan Snyder, and Randy Snyder, and two sisters Mary Houston, and Pat Walke.

     In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers Leonard Snyder and Francis Snyder. 

     A viewing will be held Saturday February 1, 2025 from 11 AM to 12:30 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave.Newville. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Dunlap officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Newville Cemetery.
