William James Rand Sr., 73, of Newville passed away Monday July 7, 2025 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

    He was born April 22, 1952 in West Chester, PA a son of the late Gordon Gus and Cora A. Wertz Rand.

   Bill had worked at U-Wanna-Wash-Frocks in Newville, and also Giant Foods and Ed Clouse Trucking, Carlisle, as a truck driver.

    He was a life member of the Big Spring Fish and Game, and the Sons of the American Legion.

   Bill is survived by his wife Connie Miller Rand; one son William J. Rand Jr., and his wife Deanna, one daughter Amanda Lynn Barrick, and her husband Sam; three grandchildren Clover, Lydia, and Gwynne; and one brother David Rand.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Norman and Wayne Rand.

    A visitation will be held Monday July 14, from 1 to 2 PM in the Egger Funeral Home 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville. A funeral service with Rev. Troy Howell officiating will be held Monday at 2 PM in the Funeral Home.
