Wayne Miller Hoover Obituary
Wayne Miller Hoover, 92, of Newville passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025, at home with family.
He was Born May 5, 1933, in Newville, the son of Guy M. and Lizzie Zeigler Hoover.
Wayne was a graduate of Newville High School and served as a Sargent in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a plumber and co-owner of Hoover’s Plumbing & Heating, Inc., Newville, PA.
Wayne belonged to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newville. He served as Secretary of North Newton Township. He played basketball for the Mifflin Athletic Association, baseball for the Newville Cardinals, bowled in his church league, and served on the Church Council. He was also a lifetime member of Camp Gnat.
Wayne is survived by his son Dale Hoover and his wife Nancy, his daughter Judy Keller and her husband Ken, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one brother Kenneth Hoover.
Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Danylu Kruger Hoover, who died August 8, 2022, and his brothers Robert, Guy Jr., John, and Samuel Hoover, two sisters Mary Reeder and Ruth Heberlig.
A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 51 W. Main Street, Newville, on May 31, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00. The internment was held prior to this memorial service at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Newville.
