Vonnie M. (McLaughlin) Lay

    Vonnie M. Lay, 70, of Newville passed away Monday January 4, 2021 in UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle.

    She was born February 9, 1950 in Carlisle the daughter of the late Daniel and Clover McLaughlin.

    Mrs. Lay is survived by her husband of 49 years Gary L. Lay.

    Vonnie was a 1968 graduate of Big Spring High School. She had been employed by Careerlink, retiring in 2001. She was an active member of Newville First Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking and camping.

    In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons Tobey Lay and his wife Brandi, and Justin Lay and his wife Jessica; five grandchildren Jacob Lay, Katelyn Lay, Lola Lay, Bode Lay, and Micah Weaver; and one brother Larry McLaughlin and his wife Eve.

    She is preceded in death by one brother Ronald McLaughlin.

    A private graveside service in Mt. Hope United Methodist Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Newville First Church of God 475 Shippensburg Road Newville, PA 17241.
