Velva J. Drawbaugh Obituary

    Velva J. Drawbaugh, 88, of Newville passed away Monday October 6, 2025 in the Hershey Medical Center.


    She was born November 11, 1936 in Newville a daughter of Jesse James and Alice Jean Doyle Clugston.


    Mrs. Drawbaugh had worked as a cook at Shippensburg University, and Dickinson College, as well as working in home health care.


    She loved gardening, cooking, bird watching and going on drives. But most important to her was her family.


    Velva is survived by her husband of 70 years John Parker Drawbaugh Jr.; six children Janet Wenger and her husband Dennis, Wanda Bowers, Terry Drawbaugh and his wife Sue, Teresa Etter and her husband Douglas, Brenda Hampton and her husband Michael, and Rodney Drawbaugh and his wife Gretchan; 17 grandchildren Stephen Wenger, Heather Petrone, Brian Wenger, Aaron Wenger, Kirsten Sprenkle, Lindsey Bowers, Bradlee Rickabaugh, Brett Alexander Brough, Chasen Drawbaugh, Colton Drawbaugh, Luke Etter, Jade Swartz, Brandon Hampton, Phillip Hampton, Sydney Fernandez, Paige Nelson, and Jackson Drawbaugh; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren, and one due in December; one brother Paul Clugston; and many nieces and nephews.


   She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.


    A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Upper Frankford Brick Church Cemetery.


   The Egger Funeral Home Inc. of Newville are handling the arrangements.
