Shirley Jean McDonald, 84, of Newville passed away Monday December 1, 2025 in Green Ridge Village Newville.

    She was born June 18, 1941 in Carlisle a daughter of the late Kenneth and Isabel Wheeler Rolar.

   Shirley had worked at U-Wanna-Wash-Frocks, Newville and had been a self-employed child care provider for many years. She was a member of the Newville First Church of God, the Giggles Woman's ministry and was involved with preparing meals for church functions

    She is survived by her husband Ronald D. McDonald, one daughter Jo Ann Smith and her husband Duane, one son Michael A. McDonald and his wife Cheryl, five grandchildren Benjamin Smith, Kayla Hoover and her husband Trent, Olivia McDonald, Julia McDonald, and Jack McDonald, two great grandchildren Cora and Grant Hoover, one brother Duane Rolar, and one sister Janice Farner.

   A memorial service with Rev. Wayne Good officiating will be held at 12 Noon Saturday December 6, 2025 in the Newville First Church of God 475 Shippensburg Road Newville.
