Ruth A. Thrush, 84, of Newville passed away Tuesday July 4, 2023 in UPMC Carlisle.

    She was born March 12, 1939 in Newville a daughter of Edward W. and Beulah Neidigh Gutshall.

    Mrs. Thrush was preceded in death by her husband John P. Thrush who passed away October 17, 2000. 

    Ruth had retired from G.S. Electric in Carlisle, and was a member of Green Spring First Church of God. 

    She is survived by one daughter Wanda J. Thrush Moctezuma and her husband Patrick of Ruckersville, VA, two sons Steven A. Thrush and his wife Shari of Newville, and Roger D. Thrush and his wife Jennifer of Carlisle; five grandchildren Thomas P. Holloway, Andrew Thrush, Emily Thrush, Mason Thrush, and Ashton Thrush, one step-grandson Dylan Smith.; two sisters Bertha Gutshall, and Grace Gutshall, and one brother Roy Gutshall.

    She was preceded in death by two sisters Martha Smith, and Goldie Clouser. 

    A viewing will be held Monday July 10, 2023 from 7 to 9 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville. A funeral service with Rev. Philip Steele officiating will be held at 10 AM Tuesday July 11, 2023, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
