Russell G. Clavey II Obituary

    Russell G. “Russ” Clavey II, 56, of Newville passed away Wednesday February 26, 2025 in his home.


    He was born September 19, 1968 in Fort Belvoir, VA a son of the late Russell G. Clavey, and Carolyn L. Von Wittenburg McNaughton, who survives.


    Russ is survived by his wife Katie F. Shoemaker Clavey.


    He worked as a mechanic and a delivery driver for Laurel Hill Trout Farm, formerly Green Spring Fish Hatchery.


    Russ loved his family, and racing. He had raced at Shippensburg and Path Valley Race tracks, driving the 56R and 82 cars.


    In addition to his mother Carolyn McNaughton and wife Katie Clavey he is survived by six children Courtney Clavey, RJ Clavey, Dakota Clavey, Anthony Gaudioso, Dylan Peel-Clavey, and Sabrina Clavey; one granddaughter Oaklynn Weaver, one sister Kelly Luby and her husband Paul, one brother Patrick McNaughton, his best friend and cousin Chris Henry, and lots of nieces and nephews.


    Russ preceded in death by his father Russell G. Clavey, his step-father George McNaughton, and his grandmother Mary Jo Von Wittenburg.


    A viewing will be held Monday March 3, 2025 from 2 to 4 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville. A Celebration of Life will be held privately.
