Roy M. Franklin

    Roy M. Franklin, 79, of Newville passed away Tuesday November 26, 2019 in the Shippensburg Health Center.

    He was born November 15, 1940 in Newburg, the son of the late Sarah E. McElwee Franklin.

    Mr. Franklin is survived by his wife Bonnie M. Yeakle Franklin.

    He had served in the United States Air Force.

    He had worked for the Carpentry Union, had his own business Franklin Construction, and retired from Mowery Construction.

       Roy was an avid hunter, enjoyed Blue Grass music, camping, and tinkering with things. He played guitar, and had built several guitars.

    In addition to his wife Bonnie he is survived by two sons Patrick Franklin and his wife Sheila, Brian Franklin and his wife Jennifer, and one daughter Kelly Steele and her husband William; three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; one sister Marjorie Tarner, and one brother Harry Franklin.

    A viewing will be held Monday December 2, 2019 from 10 to 11 AM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville. A funeral service with the Rev. Wayne Good officiating will be held at 11 AM Monday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Newville Cemetery.

    In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
