Paul C. Skelly

    Paul C. Skelly, 91, of Shippensburg passed away Sunday January 2, 2022 in his home.

    He was born November 1, 1930 in Chambersburg a son of F. Shull and Edna M. Coble Skelly.

    Mr. Skelly had been a farmer, was owner of Skelly Builders, and was a former tax collector for Guilford Township. He graduated from auctioneer school.  He was a life member of Solomons Evangelical Lutheran Church, was a member of Crusaders for Christ Sunday School Class, and had acted in and directed church plays for over 50 years. He was a member of New Franklin Ruritan, the Tax Collectors Association of PA, and the Franklin County Builders Association. Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and bowling.

    He is survived by his wife Mary Jo Lehman Skelly, four daughters Bonnie Hudson and her husband Bill, Roxanne  Bothe and husband Dan, Tammy Helman and her husband Denny, and Lisa Mentzer and her husband Blaine. One step-daughter Vicki Johnson and her husband Doug, six grandchildren Chad Stover, Hollie Taylor, Jason Helman, Jenna Martin, Calvin Mentzer, and Luke Mentzer; two step grandsons Garrett Johnson and Drew Johnson, nine great grandchildren and one in the oven.

    He was preceded in death by two brothers Frank Skelly and George Skelly, and three sisters Mary Shetler, Ruth Dice, and Esther Reichard.

    A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM Monday January 10, 2022 in Solomons Lutheran Church, Chambersburg. A funeral service with Rev. Barbara Barry and Rev. Michael Allwein officiating will be held at 11 AM in the church. Burial will be held at Parklawn Memorial Garden, Chambersburg.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund, Solomons Lutheran Church 4856 Wayne Road Chambersburg, PA 17202.

    The family is asking that individuals follow Covid-19 guidelines, and only attend if you are feeling well.
