Margaret A. (Peg) Bucklew died on April 16, 2020 at the age of 78 years. She passed peacefully in the presence of her brother and sister-in-law at Elmcroft Senior Living in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.
Peg was born in York, PA on November 12, 1941. She graduated from York Catholic High School in June, 1959. She continued her education and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Millersville State College in May, 1963 and a Master of Arts degree from Millersville State College in August, 1974. Peg was a life-long learner studying and earning advanced credits from several educational sources.
Peg was a teacher/faculty member of the Waynesboro Area School District for over thirty years. Her passion was teaching high school French. She also worked in the area of curriculum development and was a Principal at the Mowrey Elementary School. After her service in Waynesboro, she was an associate professor at Frostburg University.
Peg was an avid reader and had many other interests. She enjoyed international travel but also liked camping across the United States with family and friends. Peg was active in the American Association of University Women. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and embroidery and always had an “in-progress” project by her chair. Crossword puzzles were a daily challenge and playing bridge was always a highlight. She was an interesting conversationalist often delving into subjects some might consider “off limits.” She usually had a story to tell. Peg liked a challenge.
Peg was preceded in death by her husband Ralph E. Bucklew, her parents Joseph R. Sr. and Miriam Beck, a brother Joseph R. Beck, Jr. (KIA in Vietnam), and a sister Elizabeth Jane Beck.

(Gina) Bell, as well as great nieces and great nephews Kaden, Lilly, and Rachel Holtgrave, Levi and Sam Beck, Alex, Landon, Wyatt, and Ava Grace Bell.
