Joy M. Oller, 92, of Newville, passed away Sunday March 2, 2025 at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle, PA.
She was born October 11, 1932 in Harrisburg, the daughter of Frank G. and Jennie B. Daugherty Reitzel.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rev. David F. Oller, brothers John, Robert, and F. Eber, and grandson Adam Mayeski.
Joy embodied her name and brought light to all those around her. She was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and leader of pastoral care and ministry in partnership with her husband. She loved working, and was a life-long clerical worker, employed by U.S. military depots, private companies and churches. She was a musician, and loved to play the organ and accordion for church services. She also loved to sing, especially in harmony with her family.
Joy is survived by her five children: David Oller (Murphy, N.C.) and wife Bonnie, Cheryl DeFrain (Nanticoke, PA), Janice Mayeski (Newburg, PA) and husband Samuel, Michael Oller (Carlisle, PA) and wife Wanda, and Patricia Hill (Newville, PA) and husband Richard; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother David Reitzel (Somers Point, N.J.)
A memorial service will be held Saturday March 15, 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Blue Mountain Assembly of God, 9886 Otterbein Church Rd, Newburg, PA 17240
