James Verwin Miller, 80, of Shippensburg passed away Tuesday April 23, 2019 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born September 4, 1938 in New Paris, PA the son of the late Verwin and Beulah Shaulis Miller.
He served in the U.S. Army, had worked as a semi- driver for 39 years, retiring from ABF. He was a member of Berean Baptist Church, Newville and was active at Branch Creek Senior Center in Shippensburg.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife Joyce Ann Smith Miller, one daughter Julie A. Watson and her husband William of Muncy, PA, and one son James V. Miller, Jr. of Carlisle. Two grandchildren Maria Giles and her husband Luke, and Curtis Watson. Two great grandchildren Asher and Mick Giles; four sisters Eileen Tanzey, Barbara Lott, Charlotte Brunty, and Pattsi Wiley; and three brothers John Miller, Ray Miller, and Samuel Miller.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Charles Miller, and Glen Miller.
A viewing will be held Thursday May 2, 2019 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Van Sant officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
