Haydee L. Greene

   Haydee Greene, died suddenly on September 18, 2018 at 12:34pm. She was in good spirits and was at the time planning another one of her adventures. As many of you are aware, she was a woman of steadfast iron-clad friendship and ferocious love. She enriched her community through her dance studio in the ‘70s and her work with the Big Spring High School musicals.  She gave generously of her time to the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Brass City Ballet in Middlebury, Connecticut. Professionally she blessed, and occasionally saved, the lives of those she worked with as a nurse through private duty, her tenure at Masland Carpets, and her work with the Department of Health and Human Services at Fort Indiantown Gap and Washington, D.C. during the 1980 immigration crisis. Later in life she was a dedicated interpreter for the federal and county judicial systems.

Her parents sent her to the United States from Cuba at 15 with two younger siblings to flee Castro. She found a way. Her husband Robert died in this small town leaving her an immigrant with small children on a beef farm they had just acquired. She found a way.

Haydee always found a way.

   She enjoyed music, dance, singing and time with friends and family. She was a woman of unexceeded quality in all things except jokes and singing. She is survived by four grandchildren, Abi, Connor, Robert and Kate Greene, the subject of her most extravagant pride and attention, four children, David, Steven, Karis and Marc, two siblings, Ray and Emma, her nephews and nieces and cousins.

A visitation this Saturday, September 22, 2018, 4:30pm followed by a brief service at 6 will occur at:
