Esther Mae Stum Varner, 92, of Newville passed away Monday November 4, 2019 in Green Ridge Village, Newville.
She was born November 19, 1926 in Newville the daughter of Paul T. and Viola E. Stum.
She had worked at the dress and shoe factories. Esther had attended Doubling Gap First Church of God.
She is survived by two sons Max G. Varner and Harry L. Varner; two daughters Carolyn V. Trayer and husband George, and Arlene J. Shaffer and husband Michael; five grandchildren Melanie Martin, Jason Trayer, Joshua Trayer, Stephanie Varner, and Beverly Varner; six great-grandchildren Evan and Olivia Martin, Clara, Nora, and Violet Trayer, and Samuel Bundick; two brothers John Stum, and Ed Stum; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Paul T. Stum Jr., and Ebert Stum, and one sister Clara Stum Woods.
A viewing will be held Thursday November 7, 2019 from 10 to 11 AM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
