Eldon G. Mease Obituary

Eldon G. “Dutch” Mease, age 91 of Newville, passed away June 26, 2026. He was born May 19, 1935 in Cropsey, IL to the late Jacob and Clestie (Short) Mease. Eldon was a self-employed carpenter, a lifetime member of the Eagles and enjoyed WWII memorabilia. He had a love of airplanes and loved putting together model airplanes and doing crafts in his workshop. He was a NASCAR fan and traveled the circuit with his wife, Alice.


He is survived by his daughters; Donna J. Mease of Newville, Debbie S. Palmer of Carlisle, Dianne K. Tuckey and husband, Wayne of Biglerville, Dolores L. Raudabaugh and husband, Richard of Newville, Dawn A. Lehman and husband, Thomas of Newville and Dedrea M. Mease of Shippensburg; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and sister; Barbara Hersh of Edinton, GA. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Laurie Mease. Eldon was preceded in death by his wife, Alice (Reichert) Mease; son, David E. Mease; 2 granddaughters; brothers, Donald Mease and Thomas Mease and sister, Mary Alice Cooper.


Professional services have been entrusted to Egger Funeral Home, 15 Big Spring Avenue, Newville, where funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 11:00am. Friends will be received from 10:00am until time of funeral service. Eldon will be laid to rest at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
