Edna Grace Worthington, 91, of Newville passed away Wednesday September 27, 2023 in Chambersburg Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born August 30, 1932 in Shippensburg a daughter of James and Ruth Fogelsanger Gettel.
Mrs. Worthington was the widow of Ellis E. Worthington who died February 17, 2017.
Edna had belonged to the Ridge Church of the Brethren, where she also belonged to the Woman's Work of the Church, served on the Church Board, taught in the Nursery for over 50 years, and served the church in many other capacities. She also belonged to the Gideons Auxiliary.
Mrs. Worthington is survived by one daughter Carol A. Lamason and her husband John of Newville; one granddaughter Andrea Widders of Lancaster County; two great grandchildren Luke and Gracie Lemmon, and their father Bruce Lemmon Jr.; one sister Jeannie Orner of Dillsburg, one brother Crist Gettel of Shepherdstown, WV.
In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by her grandson-in-law David Widders; eight brothers and sisters Harold Gettel, Ralph Gettel, Barb Adams, Margaret McGee, Helen Morrow, Alice Doyle, and two infant sisters.
A viewing will be held Sunday October 8, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville, and Monday October 9, from 9 to 10 AM in the Ridge Church of the Brethren 1095 Ridge Road Shippensburg. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
