Edith M. Stum, 93, of Newville passed away Saturday December 23, 2023 in Green Ridge Village, Newville.

    She was born May 29, 1930 in Newville a daughter of the late Irvin and Sarah Mixell Russell.

    Mrs. Stum was preceded in death by her husband Ebert M. Stum who died October 3, 2000.

    Edith had attended the Newville Church of God. She had worked for U-Wanna-Wash-Frocks of Newville.

    Mrs. Stum is survived by one son Randolph P. Stum, three daughters Brenda M. Shughart (Nelson), Barbara L. Souder (Steven), and Becky D. Fertenbaugh (Michael); four grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by six brothers Lester, Raymond, Paul, Clyde, Ernest, and Charles Russell, and one sister Louise Miller.

    Funeral services will be held Saturday December 30, 2023 at 11 AM in the Newville First Church of God 475 Shippensburg Road, Newville with the Rev. Kevin Dunlap officiating. A Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM Saturday, in the church. Burial will follow in the Newville Cemetery.
