E. Paul Spahr Obituary

    E. Paul Spahr, 98, of Carlisle and formerly of Newville passed away Sunday July 21, 2019 in UPMC Pinnacle, Carlisle.

     He was born January 4, 1921 the son of Wilbur E. and Myrtle M. Neidigh Spahr.

    Mr. Spahr was preceded in death by his wife Mary Beam Spahr.

    He was a 1938 graduate of Newville High School, and served in the U.S. Army, during WWII.

     He had worked for Hershey Foods, as a Milk Percurer. He was a member of the Newville First Church of God, and was a Life Elder, he had taught Sunday School, and had been the church treasurer. He had also been the treasurer at Camp Yolijwa. He belonged to Big Spring Lodge 361 F & AM and was a Past Master. And was a member of the Barber Shop Harmony Society.

    He is survived by one son Bradley W. Spahr and his wife Beth of Newville, one daughter Paula M. McCord and husband Ralph of Courtland, OH, two granddaughters Brandi Lay and her husband Tobey, and Leah Madara and husband Brian; three great grandsons Micah Weaver, Nathan Madara, and Carter Madara; two brothers William E. Spahr, and Robert L. Spahr, and one sister Betty L. Hockensmith.

     He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Samantha Jane Spahr, two sisters Dorothy Coover, and Katherine Spahr, and one brother Charles Spahr.

    A memorial service will be held Friday July 26, 2019 at 12 noon in the Newville First Church of God. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
