Duane E. Wert

    Duane E. Wert Sr., 60, of Newville passed away Friday May 28, 2021 into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ, in the Hershey Medical Center.

    He was born August 29, 1960 in York, a son of James Monroe and Mary Ceaseria DiMemmo Wert.

    Duane was the owner of D.E.W. & Sons Septic Service. He had attended Doubling Gap Church of God, and was a member of the Newville Lions Club, and had been a past president. He loved coaching football for Big Spring and coached on many levels. He frequently volunteered through several organizations, and loved to help and serve others, but most importantly he loved his family, and Jesus.  He was a life coach for his children, other family members and many friends.

    Duane is survived by his wife Rebecca Lin Wert, five children Duane E. Wert Jr. and his wife Becky, Danny Wert and his wife Courtney, Sherry Kreis and her husband Steve, Sheena Poth and her husband Bob, and Dustin Wert and his wife Courtney A. Wert; 17 grandchildren Paige, Dawson, Declan, Madalynn, Caitlin, Gretchen, Lillian, Darren, Devin, Dalton, Viva, Piper, P.J., Blaise, Landen, Nathan, and Tenley; one great-granddaughter Eleanor Lane; three sisters Darlene Young, Malissa Richardson, and Judy Wilson, and five brothers Jim Wert, Jessie Wert, Elvis Wert, Richard Wert, and Marty Wert.

    A visitation will be held Saturday June 5, 2021 from 2 to 4 PM in the Doubling Gap Church of God 50 McCrea Road Newville. A funeral service will be held at 4 PM Saturday in the church with Pastor Donald Snyder officiating.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to help Lin and the family offset funeral expenses may be sent to Lin Wert 414 Roxbury Road Newville, PA 17241.
