1918- 2024

Dorothy died at Green Ridge Village CCRC, Newville, PA, formerly of Ridgway, PA in her sleep on March 19, 2024 at the age of 106 as of January 10th 2024. She was born in Lake City on a farm near Ridgway to Hilda Lance Corbett and Charles Corbett who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 78 years, J. Franklin Reed in 2016 at the age of 104 ½, three sisters Elsie (August) Munson, Hazel (ted) Smith, Freda (John) Thacher and a brother Melvin (Deloris) Corbett, a twin Daughter Rebetta Bee Reed Chaklos Wengert, Grandson James Michael Chaklos, son-in-law Douglas H. Petrie, and several extended family members.

She is survived by a Daughter, Rebecca Ann Reed Petrie and a Granddaughter Deborah Lynne Chaklos (Chris) Tator, two great grand-daughters Emily and Elizabeth Tator, two great-grandsons Steven and Tom Chaklos all of Pittsburgh, PA and a sister-in-law, age 103- Betty Reed Hatfield of Horse Heads, New York and several nieces and nephews.

By her request there will be no viewing, visitation, or service at this time. There will be a private celebration of life at the “Reed family Reunion” this summer in Ridgway, PA followed by the interment of her and her husbands ashes(combined) in the Clarion Cemetery, Clarion, PA.
