C. Louise Hoover Obituary

   C. Louise Hoover, 93, of Newville passed away Saturday April 4, 2026 in UPMC Carlisle.


   She was born October 29, 1932 in Newville a daughter of the late Leonard K. and Isabel Sollenberger Stouffer.


   Louise was preceded in death by her husband Samuel E. Hoover, and her son-in-law Michael Gardner.


    Mrs. Hoover had worked at the Newville Shoe Factory.


    She was a member of the Newville First Church of God, where she was involved with the Woman's Ministries, the Happy Helpers, and Giggles. She also belonged to the Mifflin Athletic Association Wonan's Group.


   She is survived by two daughters Kathy H. Gardner, and Lisa H. Sweet and her husband Bill, one son Michael Hoover and his wife Sharon; six grandchildren Jennifer Kipe, Jason Gardner (Kristin), Neil Sweet (Katelynn), Lindsey Sweet, Travis Hoover (Kayla), and Trent Hoover (Kayla); eight great-grandchildlren Isaac Kipe, Joshua Gardner, Gabriel Gardner, Zachary Gardner, Bryn Hoover, Elijah Hoover, Cora Hoover, and Grant Hoover; one sister Peg Hoover; and many nieces and nephews.


   Louise was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.


    A visitation will be held Thursday April 9, 2026 from 10 to 11 AM in the Newville First Church of God 475 Shippensburg Road, Newville. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM in the church with Rev. Wayne Good and Rev. Dick Reese officiating. Burial will follow in the Newville Cemetery.
