Barbara A. Hoover Hollen, 81, of Newville passed away Sunday March 22, 2026 in UPMC Carlisle Hospital.

    She was born April 26, 1944 in Winchester, VA a daughter of Austin and Helen Lucille Nutter Hoover.

   Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Ronald N. Hollen who passed away May 18, 2023.

    She had worked as a custodian, and a baker and she and her husband owned and operated Ron & Barbs In Season Restaurant in Highspire. Barb was know for her raisin bread. Barb was also a member of the American Legion and VFW in Newville.

    She is survived by three children Deanna M. Stouffer, Steve E. Pifer, and Mark A. Pifer; two step-children Terry Hollen, and Lisa Hollen; seven grandchildren Shannon Stouffer, Allen Pifer, Savannah Pifer, Michael Pifer, Cody Hollen, Jesse Popp, and Ricky L. Mumma; one great granddaughter Addi Pifer; and one sister Margie Yinger.

   She was preceded in death death by one brother Lansing Hoover, and one sister Joyce Walters.

    A visitation will be held Friday April 3, 2026 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 in the funeral home with Rev. Dick Reese officiating.
