Allen W. “Ike” Brandt, 90, of Newville passed away Monday January 29, 2024 in Chapel Pointe, Carlisle.

    He was born February 14, 1933 in Newville a son of Charles A. and Mae Rolar Brandt.

    Mr. Brandt is preceded in death by his wife Ada M. Boyd Brandt who passed away November 18, 2018.

    Ike had attended Newville High School, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. He had worked for William S. Hammaker as a road superintendent. He was a long time member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, Camp Gnat, and the former Mifflin Athletic Association. He enjoyed farming, gardening, and spending time outdoors.

   He will be greatly missed by his family, and is survived by one son Kevin A. Brandt, and his wife Suzette, and one daughter Jody B. Wagner and her husband Brad; his grandchildren Haley Henry and her husband Tyler, Kylie Brandt (Billy Morrow), Alexandra Wagner (Tom Melton), and Nicholas Wagner (Kirby Graham); two great-grandchildren Brandtley and Cadan Henry; and one sister Nancy Amsley (John).

    In addition to his wife and parents he is preceded in death by one infant daughter Kimberly Sue Brandt.

    A viewing will be held Saturday February 3, 2024 from 10 to 11 AM in the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church 559 Whiskey Run Rd Newville. A grave side service will be held in Mt. Hope United Methodist Cemetery at 11 AM Saturday with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Cartwright officiating.
