William P. Fickes, 86, of Carlisle passed away Sunday December 24, 2017 in the Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville.

     He was born July 22, 1931 in Newville the son of Harold C. and Olive Brown Fickes.

     Mr. Fickes is survived by his wife Jean Isabel Loy Fickes.

    Mr. Fickes had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He had owned Fickes Gulf Gas Station in Newville, Fickes Bus Service and had co-owned Fickes Maintenance Company with his son. He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Newvillle, and belonged to Community Bible Church in Brooksville, FL.

    In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter Joy Lin Lebo and her husband Dennis of Carlisle, two sons Robert Loy Fickes and his wife Susan of Shippensburg, and Todd Levan Fickes of Fayetteville; 11 grandchilderen; 14 great grandchildren.

    He is preceded in death by his son William P. Fickes II, and one brother Harold C. “Bud” Fickes Jr.

    A visitation will be held Saturday December 30, 2017 from 10 to 11 AM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM in the Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Griffith officiating.
