William E. “Bill” Derr, 79, of Newville died July 1, 2017 in his residence and home of Dave and Gloria Anderson.

     He was born October 13, 1937 in Newville the son of Enoch A. and Edith Mae Burkholder Derr.

     Mr. Derr had been a farmer, had hauled milk for Fred Burkholder, his grandfather, and worked at the Cumberland Valley Feed Mill for 33 years. He was a member of the Wildlife Turkey Federation, Williams Grove Steam Engine Association, and Cumberland Valley Tractor Pullers Association.

     Bill is survived by two sisters Alta Grace Dunkleberger and her husband Culvert, of Scotland, and Mary L. Barrick and her husband Stanley of Newville; and many nieces and nephews.

     A viewing will be held Thursday July 6, 2017 from 12 to 1 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Newville.

     In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
