Samuel Harry Hockenberry, 49, of Carlisle passed away Wednesday October 23, 2019 in UPMC Pinnacle West Shore Hospital.
He was born January 5, 1970 in Lewistown, the son of the late Samuel H. Hockenberry Sr., and Margaret J. Palm Geedy.
He is survived by his wife Carol L. Mitchell Hockenberry.
He had worked as a forklift operator for Exel. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and helped the PA Boat Commission with stocking.
In addition to his wife Carol Hockenberry, and his mother Margaret Geedy he is survived by five children AdaRose Brown of Mifflintown, Bryana Hockenberry and Dakota Hockenberry of Carlisle, Jordan Hockenberry and his wife Renee of Mifflintown, and Tyler Hardy and his companion Taylor of Newville; four grandchildren Auston Richardson, Riley Harlow, Cameron Soto, and Easton; two sisters Rhonda Berry and her husband Chris, and Mellissa Romig and her husband Larry of Port Royal; two step-sisters Ester Palm and her husband James, and Vonnie Mae Bowsman, and two step-brothers John Geedy, and Nevin (Sonny) Geedy III.
He is preceded in death by his son Wayne D. Mitchell, his father Samuel Harry Hockenberry, step-father Nevin E. Geedy Jr., his sister Bobby Geedy, and his grandparents.
A visitation will be held Saturday October 26, 2019 from 1:30 to 3 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville. A graveside service will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery Newville.
