Ruth Burkett Obituary
Ruth P. Burkett, 89, of Shippensburg died Friday March 23, 2018 in UPMC Pinacle Carlisle.
She was born June 19, 1928 in Franklin County the daughter of the late Samuel and Harriot E. Gallagher Hardy.
Mrs. Burkett is preceded in death by her husband Leroy R. Burkett who died February 7, 2001.
She had worked as a seamstress for U-Wanna-Wash-Frocks, Newville, and was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter Linda D. Stahl of Shippensburg, three sons Joseph E. Burkett of Tampa, FL Clifford W. Burkett and Jeffery L. Burkett both of Shippensburg, 6 grandchildren; 3 great grand children; and one brother George Hardy of Fort Loudon.
She is preceded in death by a daughter Janice E. Burkett, four sisters Carrie Furman, Grace Williams, Marie Lindsay, and Jeanette Burkett; and one brother Raymond Hardy.
A viewing will be held Thursday March 29, 2018 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville. A funeral service with Rev. Lisa Klinger officiating will be held at 1:30 PM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Newville Cemetery.
