Rhoda A. (Herr) Martin

Rhoda A. Martin (Herr), 65, of Newville, PA passed into her beloved Savior's arms surrounded by her family on Friday, June 29, 2018 after heart surgery. She was the loving wife of Daniel Martin Jr. for 44 years. Born May 2, 1953, in Quarryville, PA, she was the daughter of Ira and Mary Jean Herr. She graduated from Lancaster Mennonite High School and then Willow Street Vo-Tech.

Rhoda, an LPN at Cumberland Crossings, loved spending time with family, hosting meals, doing crafts, gardening, spending time at her mountain cabin, and walking. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Diller Mennonite. She had a contagious laugh. She was well loved and will be missed by her family, friends, and coworkers. 

She is survived by her husband; four children and spouses: Jeremy and Rebekah Martin (Middletown, PA), Jessica and Pavi Gnanamanickam (Ormond Beach, FL), Jonathan and Julie Martin (Carlisle, PA), and Charity and Tim Brown (Lancaster, PA); eight grandchildren with a ninth on the way (Jason, Brooklynn, Cossette, Ethan, Joanna, Isaiah, Joshua, and Janaye); her parents, Ira Jr. and Mary Jean Herr (Lititz, PA), and four siblings, Rachel Frey (Greencastle, PA), Ira Herr III (Lancaster, PA), Edward Herr (Bellevue, ID), Nevin Herr (Bellevue, ID). She was predeceased by her son Matthew Martin.
