Nicole Michelle (Roberts) Finkenbinder, 33, of Newville passed away Thursday, February 1 at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center after a life long battle with Type 1 diabetes. Nicole (Niki) was born July 26, 1984 in Columbus OH and lived in Canal Winchester, OH, Forest, VA, Virginia Beach, VA and Carlisle, PA.
She graduated from Carlisle High School in 2002 and Penn State University in 2007. She was a member of the Newville Church of the Brethren. Niki loved children and was a preschool teacher when her health permitted. She was skilled in crafting and got pleasure in sharing her finished projects with family and friends. She also enjoyed camping with family and spending time with her nephews and nieces.
Niki is survived by her loving husband, Dustin, her parents, Larry and Karen Roberts (Newville), sisters, Macy (Kevin) Reall and their children (Preston, Brennan, Mabel) (Carlisle) and Erin (Hunter) Romig (Carlisle), maternal grandfather, Charles (Sandy) Orr (Columbus, OH) and her four legged babies, Roxie, Dakota and Sergio. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, maternal grandmother and two aunts.
A visitation will be held Monday February 5, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM in the Newville Church of the Brethren 16 Carlisle Road, Newville. A visitation will also be held Tuesday from 10 to 11 AM in the church. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11 AM Tuesday. Burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Newville Church of the Brethren, American Diabetes Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or a charity of your choice that serves the medical needs of children.
