Martha Jane Johnson

     Martha Jane Johnson, 86, of Newville passed away Tuesday September 3, 2019 in Rodgers Personal Care Home, Chambersburg.

    She was born July 12, 1933 in Newburg the daughter of Harry B. and Mary Burttent Wheeler.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Johnson.

    Mrs. Johnson belonged to Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, the Mifflin Athletic Association, and the Newville Bowling League.

    She is survived by one daughter Dianna M. Peiffer and her husband David, and three sons Michael E. Johnson and his wife Roxanne, Douglas K. Johnson and his wife Vicki, and Gregory L. Johnson and his wife Linda, all of Newville; Seven Grandchildren Carrie, Derrick, Blake, Garrett, Matthew, Drew, and Melissa; and 5 great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers.

    A memorial service will be held Saturday September 14, 2019 at 2 PM in Mt. Hope United Methodist Church 599 Whiskey Run Road. A visitation will be held in the church from 1 to 2 PM in the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
