Jacob Bales Obituary

Jacob Patrick Bales, 24, of Shippensburg passed from this world unexpectedly on May 25, 2019 in his home. He was born on October 3, 1994 in Harrisburg, PA to Kelly (Rand) and Robert C. Bales Jr. He attended Big Spring Schools and graduated from Big Spring High School in 2013. He was currently enrolled at Shippensburg University.

Jake enjoyed sports, especially football and snowboarding. He was an avid lover of music and taught himself to play drums and guitar. Jake was a loyal, trustworthy, loving, caring friend to many. His quiet strength showed in his desire to help and support those around him. According to his friends, he always had a smile for others and was kind to anyone he came in contact with.

Despite Jake’s gift of kindness and caring, deep inside he was silently struggling to work through and conquer the typical demons with which most young people struggle. Unfortunately, the demons took over his thought process and won. He is now at peace and no longer struggling. Those who know him are so fortunate to have been given the time that we had.

Jake leaves behind many who love and miss him dearly. In addition to his parents, he leaves brothers Lucas Bales at home; Robert Bales III (companion Cassie), Camp Hill; grandparents Sharon and David Rand, Newville; Donna (AJ) Brown, Fla; Linda Bales, Carlisle; companion Madison Braybrooke, California; nieces and nephew Jet Bales, Aaliyah and Annabelle Nicholson; cousins Trevor Beierschmitt, Taylor Beierschmitt, Daulton Seibert, Amanda Seibert, Amanda Rand, William Rand Jr., Brandon Seibert; Aunts and Uncles Sally (Phil) Beierschmitt, Kitty Seibert, Bill (Connie) Rand, many extended family, and many more friends.

Jake was preceded in death by his sister Alicia Nicholson, his grandfather Bob Bales, and his uncle Neal Rand.

Jake’s warm smile and bright soul will shine through us all. Rest peacefully beautiful boy!

A visitation will be held Tuesday June 4, 2019 from 4 to 6 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville. A memorial service will be held at 6 Tuesday in the Funeral Home.   A Celebration of Jake's Life will be held at 6 Tuesday in the Funeral Home.
