H. Bruce Conover, 82, of Newville went to his heavenly home, Monday January 1, 2018 with his daughter by his side.

    He was born January 8, 1935 in Carlisle the son of the late Harry R. and Helen Martz Conover.

    Mr. Conover is preceded in death by his wife Janet Lehman Conover who died April 3, 2011.

    He had been a sheet metal worker and worked for Leroy Roofing in Harrisburg.

    He was a member of the the Newville First Church of God, and had served on the church council. He was a life member and former Fire Chief of Friendship Hose Company #1 in Newville.

    He is survived by one daughter Carla J. Grimes and her husband Bill of Carlisle; three grandchildren Zachary Piper, Megan Negley and her husband Brian, and Mackenzie Grimes; and four great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother Charles D. Conover.

    A viewing will be held Monday January 8, 2018 from 10 AM to 12 PM in the Newville First Church of God. A funeral service with the Rev. Wayne Good officiating will be held in the church Monday at 12 PM. Burial will follow in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
