Ethel V. Baer

    Ethel V. Baer, 91, of Newville passed away Monday November 12, 2018 in UPMC Pinnacle, Carlisle.

    She was born November 23, 1926 in Lower Mifflin Township the daughter of Norman Roy and Ethel Alma Boll Hoover.

     Mrs. Baer is survived by her husband Rev. Russel Baer Jr. whom she was married to for 72 years.

     She had worked in the Big Spring cafeteria, and J.C. Wentzel & Son where she was famous for her pastry, cinnamon and jelly rolls.

     She was the mother and grammy of her children's and grandchildren's friends, and will be greatly missed by her family.

     In addition to her husband she was the loving mother and grammy of three daughters Carol L. Baer, Ruth Ann Myers and her husband Norman, and Donna Jean Mickey and her husband Ken, one son Russel Baer III and his wife Belinda; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren; and one sister Frances Chamberlin.

    She is preceded in death by six brothers Filmore, Ted, Dean, Norman, Harold, and Mac Hoover, and one sister Alma Showaker.

    A viewing will be held Friday November 16, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM in the Egger Funeral Home 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville, and Saturday from 10 to 11 AM. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Newville.
