Dawn Marie (Gurga) Thompson

    Dawn Marie Thompson, 59, went to be with the Lord January 14, 2019 after a 25 year battle with cancer.

     She was born May 11, 1960 in Bristol, CT.

     She was preceded in death by her mother Kathleen Gurga.

     She was a Staff Sgt., in the US Air Force, working as Ariel Port and Transportation. She was an EMT at Friendship Hose Co. Newville, PA (47) and loved being part of the community.

    Dawn is survived by her husband of 5 years Michael Thompson, one daughter Catherine Vannaken and her husband Jacob and 2 grandsons Christopher Gordon and Lucas Vannaken, one step-son Timothy Thompson, two step-daughters Stephanie and Kristin Thompson two brother Christopher Gurga and Mark Gurga and friend Dan Murphy and her partents Robert and Gail Chikosky.

    A visitation will be held Sunday January 20, 2019 from 1 to 2 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 Big Spring Ave. Newville. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM in the funeral home.
