Darlene J. “Jackie” Smith, 71, of Newburg passed away Sunday May 19, 2019 in her home.
She was born October 27, 1947 a daughter of the late Harry R. Bolen and Betty M. Bailey Bolen of Newburg.
She was the widow of Richard D. Smith who died December 4, 2010.
She had worked for Amp Inc. and retired from Tyco. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Newburg, and was a member of the VFW and American Legion Woman's Auxiliaries, and belonged to Eastern Star.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her sister Nancy L. Shenk of Newburg; her companion Laverne Smith; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother Harry W. “Bill” Bolen.
A viewing will be held Tuesday May 28, 2019 from 11 AM to1 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville, a funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the funeral home with the Rev. Mary Jane King officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
