Dale Barrick Obituary

Dale R. Barrick, 72 passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 30th, 2018 at Hershey Medical Center. Dale is survived by his wife, Terry E. Barrick whom he married on March 3rd, 1967. He was born on May 5th, 1946 to the late Harold S. Barrick and Miriam Kelso Barrick.

Dale received a heart transplant (#106) on July 25th, 1992 at the age of 46 which allowed him to live a full and active life. This gift of life gave 26 additional years to all that loved and knew him. Dale was a wealth of knowledge and always had an answer for everything. He had a gift of striking up conversations with anyone and loved to talk about farming. He enjoyed many hunting trips, traveling with his wife, camping at tractor shows and spending winters at his home in Florida. He was an avid collector of tractors and antique farm equipment. He was a member of the NRA, Keystone Oliver Collectors of PA, Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Assoc, Perry County Old Iron Collectors, and International Harvester Collectors Chapter 17.

Dale farmed for many years, was a well driller at Gayman Well Drilling for 21 years and drove a milk truck for Barrick & Stewart Milk Hauling for 47 years. He was also employed at the Camp Hill State Corrections Institute, and the Newville Borough Water and Sewer Authority. Dale owned and operated his own water treatment business for 52 years and his customers became friends to him. Dale has been Township Supervisor and Road Master as well as the Judge of Elections for Lower Mifflin Township.

Dale had many titles, but his favorite was Dad or Pap. He was very proud of his children: Tracy Barrick (and wife Lisa), Tonya Miller (and husband Shane), Tina Jones (and husband Albie), Todd Barrick (and wife Shannon) and Tara Mainhart (and husband Eric). He adored his grandchildren: Ashley Hosfelt, Madison and Makenzie Miller, Alyssa, Brandon and Bailey Jones, Trevor and Makayla Mainhart, Cassidy, Sydney and David Barrick.

In addition to his mother Dale is survived by three sisters; Dawn Turner, Fae Schneider and Kandi Lenker. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers; Doris Heberlig, Susie Dallos, Harold, Robert and Ronald Barrick.

A celebration of Dale's life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 10th at the Doubling Gap Church of God, 50 McCrea Road in Newville followed by fellowship in the church social hall.
