Charles Franklin Wiser, 87 of Newville, died February 6, 2019. He was born on May 30, 1931 in Blairs Mills, PA to Madeline (Hockenberry) and Bruce Wiser. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Velma (Took) and his son Charles. He is survived by four daughters Connie (husband John Quigley), Donna (husband Gary Rickabaugh), Lisa (husband Tracy Black), and Michelle (companion Mark Lehman and daughters Tiffany and Crystal). He is also survived by nine grandchildren Colby, Devin, Whitney, Nicolas, Dairrein, Branda, Charlee, Daniel and Shelli. Five great-grandchildren Dane, Autumn, Lorelei, Dax and Cutter. He is also survived by four brothers Erwin, Dale, Kenny and Galen and one sister Mary Lou (Woltz). He was preceded in death by one brother Max. He retired from the drywall business and after retirement enjoyed helping maintain the Big Spring Fish and Game of which he was a long-standing member. He was a member and past commander of the Newville VFW and a member of Newville American Legion. He was also a veteran of the US Army and served as an MP in Germany. He was a charter member of the Lucky Seven Hunting Camp where he spent many vacations with family and friends and also hunting and fishing trips.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 15th 2019 from 11 to 1 PM at Dugan Funeral Home, 51 Asper Dr., Shippensburg PA. Service will be held from 1 to 2 PM and internment and honor guard services at Westminster Cemetery at 3 PM. Immediately following services at Westminster, friends and family are invited to share refreshments and memories at the Big Spring Fish and Game.
