Betty E. (Burtnett) Heckendorn

    Betty E. Heckendorn, 94, of Newville passed away Sunday July 7, 2019 in Green Ridge Village Newville.

    She was born February 2, 1925 in Newville, the daughter of Charles Burntnett and Marion Warner Burtnett Prosser, and was the step-daughter of Frank Prosser

    Mrs. Heckendorn was preceded in death by her husband William M. Heckendorn.

    She and her husband had built and owned Crossroads Drive-in, in Newville, she had worked at the Dress Factory, and worked in Dietary at Green Ridge Village.

    She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Newville, and had taught Sunday School at the church, and had been active with Topps.

    Mrs. Heckendorn is survived by one son Marlin Heckendorn and his wife Kathy of Demascus MD, two daughters Susan Thorn and her husband Pete, of Newville, and Kathy Bevan and husband Bill of Plainfield; seven grandchildren Brian Ben and Travis Motter, Kristi Eckman, Karen Thom, Samantha Nenninger, and Max Bevan; and 22 great grandchildren.

    A visitation will be held Thursday July 25, 2019 from 1 to 2 PM in Zion Lutheran Church 51 W. Main St. Newville. A memorial service will be held in the church at 2 PM with Rev. Amy Wagner officiating.
