Betty M. (Bailey) Bolen

    Betty M. Bolen, 92, of Newburg passed away Monday July 1, 2019 in her home.

    She was born October 13, 1926 in Theresa, NY the daughter of Winslow and Hazel Lilly Bailey.

     She was the widow of Harry R. Bolen.

    Mrs. Bolen was a former Justice of the Peace. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, had belonged to Eastern Star, and the Women's Auxiliary of the Shippensburg VFW, and Legion.

    She is survived by one daughter Nancy L. Shenk of Newburg, three grandchildren Michael Manning and his wife Amy, Karen Krupa and her husband Jimmy, and Nicolas Bolen and his wife Jamilyn, three step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and 3 step-great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Harry R. Bolen, one daughter Darlene J. Smith, one son Harry W. “Bill” Bolen, one grandson Scott Manning, one sister Juanita Mitchell, and one brother Jack Bailey.

    A viewing will be held Monday July 8, 2019 from 11 AM to 12 PM in the Zion United Church of Christ, Newburg. A funeral service will be held in the church at 12 PM Monday with the Rev. Mary Jane King officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
