Bernita R. (Jones) Bistline

     Bernita Ruth Bistline, 93, of Carlisle passed away Sunday June 9, 2019 in her home. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and will be missed deeply by all.

    She was born August 30, 1925 in Shippensburg the daughter of the late Jess Freet Jones and Leora Booz Jones.

    Mrs. Bistline is survived by her husband of 71 years Bruce G. Bistline Jr. who she married December 18, 1948.

     She was a member of Middlesex United Methodist Church, where she worked with the acolytes for many years, worked in the nursery, was active with in-home visitations, and often sewed for bible shool programs. She had been involved with Old Bellaire Eastern Star #375, the Red Hat Society, Farm Women's Group, Middlesex Seniors, rode motorcycle with her husband and friends, visiting 48 states. She assisted her husband in building two houses, and had volunteered at the Church of God Home in the gift shop. Her hobbies included crocheting afghans, she enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress sewing curtains for houses, and she made many costumes for her daughters dance recitals, and matching dresses for special events.

     In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters Jessica Meier and her husband Ron, of Villages, FL and Jennifer Bistline of Carlisle; four granddaughters who loved her dearly Cholena Norrell of AK, Joelle Vance, SC, Tashina Huber, and Sarah Huber of WA; four great grandchildren Isabella Vance, Olivia Vance, Leo Vance, and Owen Langdon; two brothers LeRoy Jones and John Jones both of Shippensburg, two sisters, her identical twin Bea Waggoner of Mechanicsburg, and Ethel Palmer of Shippensburg; her daughter in law Margaret Bistline Huber, her husband Daniel Huber and their son Adam Huber; and many nieces and nephews.

     She is preceded in death by her son Bruce G. Bistline III; one sister Louise Piper, and one brother Chester Jones.

     A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday June 29, 2019 at 11 AM in the Middlesex United Methodist Church 118 N. Middlesex Rd. Carlisle, PA with Pastor Rachel Wong officiating.
