Alta Marie Jumper

    Alta Marie Jumper, 90, of Newville died December 19, 2018 in Green Ridge Village Newville.

    She was born October 5, 1928 in Newville the daughter of Roy and Clara “Goldie” Mentzer Jumper.

    She graduated from Mansfield State University, and received her Masters from Penn State University. She first taught music in the Benton School District , and retired from Big Spring School District.  In the summers she played the piano at the Allenberry Playhouse in Boiling Springs.

    She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Newville, where she had been an Elder, taught Sunday School, played the piano, and was the Hand Bell Choir Director.

    In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother Eldon D. Jumper.  She will be dearly missed by her friends and her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

    A memorial service will be held Sunday December 30, 2018 at 2 PM in the First United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Vernon Gauthier Officiating.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
