Robert William Coady

    Robert William Coady, 77, of Carlisle and formerly of Spring Run passed away Wednesday April 3, 2024 in UPMC Carlisle.

    He was born January 17, 1947 in Pottsville, PA a son of the late Charles Thomas and Barbara Elvina Moyer Coady.

    Robert graduated from Blue Mountain High School in 1965, and Penn State University in 1969. He served in the PA Air National Guard, in the 112 Tactical Air Control. Mr. Coady worked as a Field Forester for the Pennsylvania Game Commission for 17 years. He owned E&R Forestry working as a Timber Manager for 4 years.

    He was a member of Shady Pine Mennonite Church, Willow Hill, where he had served as treasurer. He belonged to the Path Valley Lions Club, and the Franklin County Bee Keepers Association.

    Mr. Coady is survived by his wife Elisabeth “Lissa” Emerson Cook Coady, two daughters Rachel Harris Coady Fortney, and Diana Conant Coady (John David Stipicevic); three grandchildren Alyssa Katherine Fortney, Mariah Christiana Fortney, and Alexander Michael Fortney; two brothers Roger Charles Coady (Dorothy Cook Coady), and Allen Moyer Coady (Lisa Kimmel Coady); and several nieces and nephews.

    He is preceded in death by his son-in-law Travis Michael Fortney.

    A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Shady Pine Mennonite Church, Willow Hill. Burial will be held privately in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
