Kimberly A. (Hoover) Bailey

    Kimberly A. Bailey, 68, of Newville passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in UPMC Carlisle surrounded by her loving family. 

    She was born December 5, 1955 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Gerald and Carolyn (Runk) Hoover.

    Kim was a registered nurse.  She worked at the Carlisle Hospital and later was the lead nurse for Dr. Dagen, totaling over 30 years of treating and helping others.

    She was an involved member of the Newville First Church of God, where she started the G.I.G.G.L.E.S. and enjoyed bringing together her sisters in Christ to fellowship. Kim created the P.A.W. Packs from the ground up in 2015.  Her unwavering goal was for the community to all be involved in feeding the children of Newville. 

    Kim enjoyed worship concerts, shopping and traveling.  She had a contagious laugh and sense of humor.  Kim rarely met a stranger because she had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel seen and important.  The beach was Kim’s happy place, and she felt sitting by the blue water was healing to the soul.  But more than anything, Kim loved being with her family and worshiping Jesus. In the midst of a host of physical adversities, Kim’s faith never wavered and her strength and fight were unmatched. She fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith.  

    Kim is survived by her husband Thomas A. Bailey of nearly 46 years, her mother Carolyn Hoover; one son Travis A. Bailey (Susan), one daughter Krystal A. Boyles (Chris); one grandson Trapper A. Bailey; two sisters Leslie Hollen, and Robin Snyder (Dwight), and several nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family.

    Visitation will be held Friday, February 16th from 6pm-8pm and Saturday, February 17th from 9:30am-11:00am at the Newville First Church of God, 475 Shippensburg Road, Newville. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, February 17th in the church at 11:00am with Rev. Richard Reese and Rev. Wayne Good officiating.
