Frank C. Egger

    Frank C. Egger, 88, of Newville passed away Wednesday February 14, 2024 in Green Ridge Village Newville.

    He was born January 19, 1936 in Patterson, NJ the only child of Frank C. and Eleanor Kreiger Egger Sr.

   Frank was a graduate of West Chester High School and Eckels College of Mortuary Science, and he served in the U.S. Army.

   He was preceded in death by his wife Jane Ann Powell Egger, who passed away November 18, 1991.

   In 1971 he established the Frank C. Egger Funeral Home in Newville, later changing the name to Egger Funeral Home Inc. when his son joined him in the business. Frank was a licensed funeral director for over 60 years.

    Mr. Egger was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Newville where he had served as an elder. He was a member of Big Spring Lodge #361 F&AM, Newville Lions Club, and had been awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow.  He served on the Newville Water & Sewer Authority, was a Director of Farmers National Bank, Newville, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, as well as many other organizations and service projects in the community.

   Frank is survived by two children Jennifer L. Jarusewski, and F. Charles Egger and his wife Kimberly all of Newville, and four grandchildren Evan J. Jarusewski, Briana M. Pechart, Quinton C. Egger and Nicholas A. Egger.

   He was preceded in death by one granddaughter Bryn Ann Jarusewski, and a son-in-law Robert Hosfelt.

   A visitation will be held Wednesday February 21, 2024 from 10 AM to 12 PM in the Newville First Church of God 475 Shippensburg Road Newville. A funeral service will be held at 12 PM Wednesday in the church with Rev. Wayne Good and Rev. Richard Reese officiating. Burial will follow in the Newville Cemetery.
