Thomas Olen McAlister, 84, of Newville died Tuesday December 5, 2017 in his home.

He was born August 6, 1933 in Perry County the son of the late Thomas Maxwell and Minnie Florence Okeson McAlister.

Mr. McAlister is survived by his wife Amy Louis Snyder McAlister.

He had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He had worked as a Tool and Dye maker at Amp Inc. He was a member of God Shepard United Methodist Church, Carlisle, belonged to the Mason Dixon VFW Post 7234 in Ocean View, DE, and belonged to the Amp Nimrods.

In addition to his wife he is survived by four children Gail S. McAlister Carberry and her husband James Carberry, Timothy O. McAlister and his wife Bridget Weary McAlister, Karen S. McAlister Heishman and her husband Duane Heishman. Michael Scott McAlister and his wife Christina Kerch McAlister. Eight Grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; two sisters Janet Brownawell, and Joyce Hull. He is preceded in death by one brother Lee McAlister.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
