    Rev. James Stuart Dickson, 97, of Newville died Thursday July 7, 2016 in Green Ridge Village Newville. 

    He was born March 21, 1919 in Altoona, PA the son of Thomas Sinclair and Barbara Root Dickson.

   He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret Z. Dickson. 

   Rev. Dickson had been the pastor at Leacock Presbyterian Church in Paradise, PA; First Presbyterian Church in Glenolden, PA;  Westminster Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg, FL, and Bush Hill Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, VA.

    He is survived by two daughters Susan Margaret Leeds and her husband Stephen of Lincoln Park, NJ, and Elizabeth Altland Dickson of Round Hill, VA; two sonsThomas Sinclair Dickson II and his wife Sherry White-Dickson of Cohutta, GA, and Douglas Reid Kaufman-Dickson and his wife Karen Kaufman-Dickson of El Paso, IL; one sister Frances Campbell Shaw; six grandchildren Daniel Dickson Leeds and his wife Meg Staikides-Leeds, James Stuart Dickson III and his wife Anna Pierce Dickson, Matthew Richards Dickson and his fiancée Heather Moore, Clayton Reid WalKaufson and wife Rachel, Colin Sinclair Kaufman-Dickson, and Karel Elizabeth Cohan and her husband Tim; five great grandchildren James Pierce Dickson, Blair Elizabeth Dickson, Stuart Miller Dickson, Brandon Moore, and Cody Moore.  

    He is preceded in death by one grandson William Z. Leeds. 

    A memorial service will be held Saturday July 30, 2016 at 11 AM in the Second Presbyterian Church, Carlisle with the Rev. Jeff Gibelius and the Rev. Jennifer McKenna officiating.
