Ralph E. Mowery, 75, of Newville died Tuesday December 6, 2016 in Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.

He was born July 16, 1941 in Harrisburg the son of Cambridge Graham Mowery and Alice Heckman Mowery.

Mr. Mowery is survived by his wife Elaine J. Weibley Mowery.

He served in the US Army as an MP, and had retired from the Defense Logistics Agency as a maintenance supervisor.

He belonged to the Doubling Gap Church of God, the American Legion, both of Newville, was an avid collector, and hunter, he enjoyed gardening, and butchering and sharing his bounty with friends and family.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons Ebert Mowery (Michelle), and Jason Hockenberry (Angie), four daughters Wendy Stout (Tim), Melissa Scholly (Ed), Cynthia Shumway (David), and Michelle Hockenberry; fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one brother Graham Mowery, three sisters Glenda Hoover, Patricia Black, and Darlene Lebo.

A viewing will be held Sunday December 11, from 6 to 8 PM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 Big Spring Ave. Newville and on Monday from 10 to 11 AM in the Doubling Gap Church of God Newville. A funeral service will be held in the church Monday at 11 AM with Pastor Donald Snyder officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlilse.
