Pearl Edna Sollenberger Bowman, 88, of Newville died Saturday December 23, 2017 in UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle.
She was born in Newville February 22, 1929 the daughter of Ira N. and Emma Heberlig Sollenberger.
Mrs. Bowman retired in 1997 after working 40 years in the Big Spring High School Cafeteria.
She was a member of the Big Spring Presbyterian Church, Newville and had belonged to the Oswald Taylor Chapter of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin C. Bowman who died January 22, 2008.
She is survived by one daughter Elizabeth Ann Bloser and her husband Garry, two grandchildren Eric Bloser and his wife Lisa, and Tori Gilbert and her husband Dana, all of Carlisle; four great grandchildren Logan and Rylee Bloser, and Haley and Bryson Gilbert; and one sister Esther Jacoby.
She is preceded in death by her son Edwin C. Bowman Jr., and three sisters Virginia Chronister, Ellena Giordano, and Edith Nelson.
A memorial service will be held Friday December 29, 2017 at 1 PM in the Big Spring Presbyterian Church Newville.
