Margaret W. Funk 97 years old died Monday, August 8 at Carlisle Hospital.  Born in Newville June 8, 1919 daughter of the late Harry B. and Mary Burtnett Wheeler.  She was the wife of the late Eldon E. Funk who died March 30, 2010.

Mrs. Funk was a life member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, sang in the choir and a member of the Missionary Society.  She was known for her cooking and baking, also her gardening.  Mrs. Funk loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

She is survived by her son, Lester E. (Lisa) Funk and two daughters Vonnie R. (Gary) Heishman, and Maryann (Daniel) Gift.  Also survived by her sister Martha J. Johnson, two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Scott Wheeler and Bessie Bates Funk.  Survived by 8 grandchildren:  David (Dena) Funk, Brian (Kristina) Funk, Eric Funk, Timothy (Jennifer) Heishman, Ryan (Schyler) Heishman, Michael (Teresa) Gift, Steven (Charissa) Gift, and Sarah (Tom) Leitzel; and 13 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Clair Wheeler, Jay Wheeler, Chester Wheeler and Franklin Wheeler, 5 sisters Isabel Rolar, Ruth Fulton, Pauline Caldwell, Jean Staver and Mary Brown, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be Friday, August 12 at 2 pm. At Mt. Home United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be from 12:30 until time of service, with the Rev. Lisa Klinger.  Burial will follow in Mt. Hope United Methodist Cemetery.
